Sexy, in the Eyes of a Man

The man beast sees beauty very differently than most women, and while not all women desire to turn those macho heads their direction, most women love the compliment.  So goddesses, here is what the gods think are sexy….

Confidence

Confidence is always in season, and men love it on a woman. Every walk should be your catwalk, even if you are wearing shorts and flip flops.  Your clothes do not define you. You define your clothes. Just admit it; you know that dress looks better on you than it does anyone else.

Natural

Believe it or not, most men do not appreciate a face plastered in make-up. They like real things. A real man will eat fresh meat he just hunted over Spam. Go for no make-up or a natural look like soft, nude tones. Instead of painting in full color, go for your skin tone and focus on shadows and highlights.

Simple

Ruffles and bows are for girls. Men love a simple style whether you are wearing a little sexy black dress and some shiny necklace or colorful scarf, or whether you are wearing flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt.

Conceal

It is not sexy to reveal all your goodies in one outfit. The short skirt that reveals the bottom of your bum… The shirt that barely covers your baby binks…  Men love to fantasize, and revealing too much interferes with their imagination. Men are, however, very drawn to outlines.

For a better understanding, next time you are out with a man and catch him checking out some chick, check her out too and see what she’s got that looks so good.

Keeping up with the latest fashion trends can be a difficult task, as some styles seem to move in and out of fashion at alarming rates.

Adding to the confusion is the fact that fashion websites and magazines often contradict each other: What one magazine hails as popular and cutting edge may be deemed tacky or passe by another.  Still, it’s possible to find common threads running throughout; by taking hold of these threads, one can determine what is truly en vogue and put together fashionable, trendy ensembles that will be sure to turn heads.

Here are just a few of the hot trends for 2011:

Bright Colors

Don’t be afraid to don bold, bright colors. Or take a slightly more reserved approach and use bright colors to accessorize and accent your more traditional wardrobe. This season, orange in particular is a stylish choice.

Go Retro

It’s hard to go wrong with vintage apparel. Create a funky, one-of-a-kind outfit by combining trends from the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s.

Pajamas – Not Just for Sleeping

Take a look at any college campus and you’ll see that wearing pajamas out in public has become perfectly acceptable. And now, thanks to sleek designs from industry leading names, it’s also fashionable!

Don’t Skirt the Issue

Full skirts may hearken back to an earlier time, but there’s nothing old fashioned about them. This fashion trend makes it easy to accentuate your figure in a stylish, flattering manner.

Lovely in Lace

Your first thought may be of the doilies that adorn your grandmother’s coffee table, but lace skirts and dresses are both versatile and sexy.

Good Clothing Should Conform to Your Natural Curves

January 25, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Choosing clothing that fits well can be a struggle for some women – especially those who are naturally curvier. A lot of clothing makers seem to think that women should look like sticks. They don’t allow for them to have curves, and so it’s very difficult for them to find clothing that they like and that they can be comfortable in. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they should stop looking, because there are clothing brands out there where women can just be themselves and enjoy clothing the body that they were given, instead of the one that some designers seem to think that they should have. If you’re a curvy woman, don’t give up on finding clothing that fits.

Apple Bottoms are a great choice for curvy women, because they’re made to fit you, instead of you having to fit them. It’s a great way to find stylish jeans that look good and feel good, instead of something that you really don’t like but have to buy because you can’t find anything better. The idea that clothes don’t fit properly is one of the main complaints that women have, even if they aren’t that curvy. Of course, that doesn’t mean all women are upset. Some of them are just the right size to fit into the clothing that specific designers make. If you’re not, you’re not alone – and that’s why there are Apple Bottoms.

It’s a great company that can really build a market share because women need to have more choices in their clothing. If they don’t get that opportunity, they’re going to get very discouraged. They can’t make other designers change their ways, but they can stop buying their clothing because it doesn’t fit them well. That will send a message to those designers that they need to start putting women’s needs first.

Stand-Out Hair Accessories

December 21, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Accessories for hair come in many different forms. Learn which pieces work best for the style you are trying to achieve.
*Headbands are terrific when you want to wear hair down, but keep it from getting into face. This is also a quick fix for a not so great hair day. Headbands made of hard plastic typically have plastic teeth for a style that stays in place. Some of the newer styles also come with special rubber pieces attached that provide ultimate protection from slipping. Thick headbands look cute with full, wavy or curly hair. Thinner hair might be overwhelmed by a wide band. Look for styles in satin, metallics and fabric with flowered adornments.
*Double combs have moved to the forefront of hair fashions. These versatile combs are connected by elastic bands that allow the wearer to keep hair pulled back. The elastics could be beaded or plain. Tease the crown and pull half your hair back, use the combs to hold an updo in place or pull hair through the middle and use as a pony holder.
*Bobby pins are an old standby, but they too are seeing updates. The newest bobby pins come in colors to match your hair shade. They also offer slip-free grips. This helps you to keep your style the way that you want it. You can also find pins with small flowers and gems attached.
*Some hair accessory companies are now making their products using green technology. You can be earth friendly and have pretty hair with pieces made from bamboo, recycled plastic and even recycled paper. Look for clips, pony holders, headbands, barrettes and more.
*Jeweled hair clips help you to dress up your do quickly and easily. Available in various colors, these work great with any outfit. For formal events, try clips decked out in clear gems for a shimmery look.

Accessories to Suit Your Style

December 19, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Finding the right fashion accessories for your look should be quite easy with the variety of choices that are now available. The choices you make will likely be based on the attire that you typically wear. If most of your apparel is:
-Comfortable and Casual
If you are a jeans and tee kind of girl, chances are you probably do not spend a whole lot of time accessorizing. If this is the case, you probably want something simple that you can throw together and go. Try using a cute scarf as a belt. This look is still really in. Slip it through the loops of your jeans and tie in a simple knot.
If you are looking to dress up your denim, slip on a pair of heels and a chunky necklace.
-Suits and Skirts
You spend your days at the office and you want something you can throw on after hours to spiff up your suit. First of all, let your hair down, then use a great headband with attached gems to take your outfit from office wear to outgoing. Another option is to add sparkly jewelry and a pair of great stilettos. You’ll look like you’ve dressed up to go out, not go to work.
-Cute and Chic
Sundresses, minis, capris, tanks these are the type of clothes you have in your wardrobe. If you wear your clothes bright and colorful, add accessories that won’t take away from your look. Try jewelry, hair barrettes and handbags made from organic cotton and unique gems, such as jade or moonstone.
If your apparel tends to lean toward nature inspired colors, try large, bold accessories that will stand out. Pendant necklaces on cording, a handbag covered in seashells, wedge shoes with turquoise accents or a cuff bracelet made from abalone will become the focal point of your attire.
